This one seems to throw a lot of people. How can I get, when I’m giving? Doesn’t the act of giving mean you have less, not more? To an extent yes and to an extent no. Here we are talking about 2 things. The greater role in society giving has and the more personal role to you.
The Secret No One Talks About
It’s no secret that I think people should mentor others on things they know a lot about. It actually helps you to learn faster too but we aren’t talking about that today. The simple fact of the matter is, the world does not have enough mentors right now to keep up with its students.
This is one of the reasons you need to mentor people. It provides society with more mentors. It also helps other people see that mentoring isn’t hard or a huge drain on you. This makes it so others are more likely to mentor as well.
Nice little cycle you will see their, huh?
But I doubt many of you care a lot about that right now. You probably care more about if you can get a mentor. Well consider this my attempt to help you by inspiring more people to teach/ mentor. After all that is what mentors do. They teach.
How Teaching Helps You Get Mentors
But why should you personally do this? What direct benefit does it provide you?
Do you have any guesses?
This one was a little tricky for most people. That is most people who have not had this work already. The answer is that people who mentor are often drawn to other people who mentor. They want to help them.
Yes, I am directly saying that if you mentor others they will be more likely to mentor you.
But that’s not all. As you start to mentor you will see what actions draw people to mentors and what actions repel mentors. Why? Because you will feel yourself being repelled from people you could really help and drawn to others even if you can’t help them that much. It become a guide for you on what to do.
Tips and Tricks In Action
I recently had a mentor come out and directly tell me this was something they did to start getting people to mentor them when they were just starting out. In fact, it worked so well that they ended up working for the person.
How about that. Getting paid to be taught by a professional.
They didn’t even have hard feelings when they left to start a rival company. Even as rival company’s’ they still got together to trade secrets and help each other out. All because they were mentoring others. How many of you have ever heard of that?
So, what do we have to do today?
Go out and find someone to mentor. Why stop at one? Why not find a whole group to teach. Imagine how much a mentor would want to help you then.
